Detective Chief Superintendent John Jones has returned to the Cayman Islands after a two-week UK holiday, and continues to await developments in the Metropolitan Police investigation of corruption among the local constabulary.
Acting Police Commissioner David George confirmed on Friday, 11 July that Mr Jones had returned to George Town.
“Mr Jones is back. He was only off the island for two weeks; he is still under suspension and will continue to collect his full salary,” said a Government Information Services (GIS) officer speaking on behalf of Mr George.
Mr George had allowed Mr Jones to extend by one week his routine annual leave, but required him to return to the Cayman Islands after a fortnight.
